University Band Concert with special guest Jay Daly

The University Band, under the direction of Cynthia Napierkowski, ends the season with a Celebration of the Popular Trumpet with special guest Jay Daly. Daly has created a historic trip through the most-loved trumpet tunes in the Great American Songbook and chart-toppers from the 20th century featuring the music of Roy Eldridge, Harry James, Maynard Ferguson, Artie Shaw, Hugh Masekela, Prez Prado and Louis Armstrong. The concert will also include selections from an array of Broadway and movie musicals and Jazz it Up! highlighting the jazz styles of Swing, Afro-Cuban Jazz and Jazz Rock. Admission is free but a goodwill donation at the door in support of scholarships for music majors is welcome.
