Root's 5th Annual Celebration
Join us virtually in Feeding Opportunity and Community!Support the power of individual and community resilience, Root’s response to the pandemic, and the launch of our Community Catering!
Join us in the kitchen! We are excited to welcome back Chef Gordon Hamersley as our Honorary Chair. Root's Executive Director, Scott Knox, and Founder and Board Chair, Jennifer Eddy will be live in the Root kitchen, bringing you updates on our work in 2020, share stories from some of our graduates, and recognize this year's recipient of the Root Community Leadership Award. The program will feature remarks from special guest, Chef Kwame Onwuachi, author of New York Times best-selling “Notes from a Young Black Chef”! Chef Kwame visited Root's summer cohort as a "Virtual Guest Chef" in August and shared his inspiring story with our youth. In partnership with our friends at Copper Dog Books in Beverly, copies of Chef Kwame's book are available for purchase and (limited) free local delivery with proceeds from the sales benefitting Root.
