2nd annual Bridge Street Neck 2010 Neighborhood Pride Contest


The Salem Chamber’s Bridge Street Neck Taskforce announced the start of the 2nd annual Bridge St. Neck 2010 Neighborhood Pride Contest. Residents and businesses in the Neck are invited to participate in a friendly competition that focuses on landscape and building improvements. Properties will be judged on their view from the street – including all side streets. Entry forms are available at local businesses and at the Ward 2 Civic Association, or they can be downloaded HERE

Awards are handed out in the following categories:

Residential          

Best  Landscaping / Flowers  ( 1st, 2nd & 3rd )
Most Improved  ( 1 winner )

Business

Best Landscaping / Flowers  (  1st & 2 nd )
Improvement awards  ( TBD )

The contest area is defined by Figure 1 “Planning Area“ of the Salem  Bridge St. Neck Neighborhood Revitalization Plan, and only what is visible from a public street or sidewalk is considered. The actual judging will take place in the week of September 19, and the awards presentation is scheduled for September 28 (location to be announced).

Judges for the 2010 contest are past year’s winners: Irene Connell, Terry St. Pierre, Angelo Lagonakis, and Alby Mieli.      
     
A great number of the Bridge Street merchants have donated prizes towards the contest: Aqua Hair Salon, Danversbank, Once & Again Antiques, Cosgrove Liquors, Spinale Automotive, Magic Muffler, Armstrong Field Real Estate, Coffee Time Bake Shop, Stacia’s Subs, Yogasakti, Lunas Pet Depot, Bill & Bobs, Damatas Pizza,  It’s Raining Pets, and The Black Lobster.
